Matter in court: Journalist, local reps accused of stealing transformer

The additional sessions judge of Swabi has extended the hearing of a local journalist and 10 members of the district administration, including the nazim and councillors, who are accused of stealing a transformer.
A petition was filed by the journalist and local representatives in Peshawar High Court against Swabi DPO, Topi DSP and SHO, tehsil council nazim Sohail Khan, tehsil municipal officer Yasir Khan and security guard of the tehsil municipal administration for allegedly registering a fake case against them.
The case was registered against the journalist and local representatives over accusation of stealing an electricity transformer. Subsequently, police personnel raided houses of the accused and submitted an application to the additional sessions judge of Swabi court. The court had fixed the date June 28 for hearing. However it has been extended to July 12.
