Head money: Counter-terrorism dept officers awarded

K-P IGP Nasir Khan Durrani awarded Rs12 million to the counter-terrorism department (CTD) officers at a ceremony held on Monday at Central Police Office.
The officers were rewarded in recognition of their efforts to arrest the proclaimed offenders. The provincial government had fixed head money on the arrest of these militants. The K-P Counter-Terrorism Department SSP, briefed the IGP regarding the performance of various officers. During the ceremony an amount of Rs12 million was distributed amongst six officers who received the head money on behalf of their teams for successfully nabbing the seven most notorious militants. The arrests have led to tracing of 40 cases of terrorism.
One of the wanted militants, Haider Ali, was involved in the brutal bomb attack on Nehalpur police post in Akora Khattak in 2011, an improvised explosive device attack on Jehangira police mobile in which one local was killed and driver and constable of police got critically injured and an IED attack on three schools in Nowshera Cantt in 2010.
