ISLAMABAD:
A procession taken out to mark Yaum-i-Ali culminated peacefully on Sunday.
The procession was taken out from Imambargah Zainabia in G-6/4 in the afternoon and culminated at Markazi Imambargah in G-6/2 at sunset after passing through Shaheed-e-Millat Road and Luqman Hakeem Road.
Authorities had made ample security and traffic arrangements to facilitate the procession.
Over 1,500 personnel of Islamabad Police, rangers and Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) were deployed along the procession route.
To facilitate the procession, Shaheed-e-Millat (from Super Market to Khayaban-e-Suharwardy) remained closed for all kinds of traffic from 3pm to 7pm, while Luqman Hakeem Road remained closed from Lal Quarters to Polyclinic Hospital.
Similarly, Municipal Road was closed from Shuhada Chowk to the GPO.
