A rescuer was injured and valuables worth millions of rupees burned in a fire that broke out on Sunday at the warehouse of an electronics factory on Raiwind Road.
A Rescue 1122 official said they had received a call at 4pm that a fire had erupted at the warehouse.
He said that initially one fire engine was sent to the site. He said 10 more fire engines and two ambulances were sent there because the fire had spread.
He said the fire fighters had been unable to put out the fire two hours after starting the operation. He said two fire engines from Kasur, two from Gujranwala and one each from Sheikhpura and Nankana were also called in.
District Emergency Officer Ahmad Raza said 80 per cent of the fire had been put out. “It will take another hour or more to control the fire.” The rescue operation continued until the filing of this report.
