Arieb Azhar joins the Azme Alishan campaign
Azhar also took this opportunity to reflect on the country.
KARACHI:
After Strings and Atif Aslam dedicated their song “Abb Khud Kuch Kerna Paray Ga” to the campaign of Azme Alishan in August last year, Arieb Azhar is the next musician who has done the same and dedicated his song “Mere Des Mein Hain Imkaan Bohat” to the same campaign.
At a press conference held at Pearl Continental Hotel on Wednesday afternoon,Azhar spoke about the cause, “I became aware of the Azme Alishan campaign last year on March 23 when I performed for them. I began to take part in their activities after visiting their website: from there I came to know that Azme Alishan provides a platform to Pakistan’s youth and has spearheaded a few campaigns in this direction,” said the singer.
Azhar also took this opportunity to reflect on the country, “Pakistan is like a rainbow, a beautiful dream; but we need to understand this dream and realise that it is in an evolutionary process. We fight wars simply because of words but we must realise that our dreams and hopes have a better chance of coming true if it is done in a positive light,” said Azhar.
About his song “Mere Des Mein Hain Imkaan Bohat,” Azhar said, “This song renders lyrics on a positive note, I plan to motivate the youth of Pakistan through it and I am glad that the song has been selected for Azme Alishan. I would like to thank the poet Arshad Bhatti for composing this song, Shahbaz Sumaar for the concept of the video and Tahir Khan for promoting it on this platform.”
In the end, Arieb Azhar performed a live version of his new song, “Mere Des Mein Hain Imkaan Bohat” and “Husn-e-Haqiqi.”
Talking to The Express Tribune, Azhar said, “This song is very dear to me because this was composed at a difficult time and it gives a feeling of making things look better and helps bring people closer.”
