Teachers of model colleges have resented the delay in issuance of a notification duly notifying their promotions.
On March 30, the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) recommended promotions of 30 teachers of model and FG colleges.
While expressing concern over the inordinate delay in issuance of the notification, Central Academic Staff Association Vice-President Farzana Akram deplored that the Federal Directorate of Education and the Capital Administration and Development Division were not taking up the issue seriously.
She said that the promotion of 17 assistant professors of FG colleges was notified on June 3 but the teachers of model colleges were still waiting for a notification. The delay has caused serious concern among the promoted teachers.
Meanwhile, the newly constructed girls’ college in Bhara Kahu will start functioning from the new academic session in August.
Associate Prof Shazia Wazir and Associate Prof Tahira Tamkeen have been transferred to the Islamabad Model College for Girls Bhara Kahu on a temporary basis
Associate Prof Samina Ashraf has already taken charge as college principal.
