KARACHI: The fate of Jamshed Dasti and other politicians is hanging in the balance as Election commission vows legal action against fake-degree holders.

Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Javed Iqbal said today that action will taken against fake degree-holders.  He said that fake degree-holders will not be allowed to contest in the polls, and that the submission of incorrect information amounts to corruption.

The acting CEC also told election tribunals to dispose off fake degree cases by 30th of this month.

afficer khan | 13 years ago | Reply well i wonder when somebody say that holding or not holding a degree doesnt make any difference...given the fact that all correspondence and everything inside and outside the parliament is done in english..i wonder how people like jamshed dasti can understand what they are signing?that is why only 27 members of the 342 knew about what was in the 18th amendment..the remaining just follow their party leaders....we need educated parliamenterians..and at least the cabinet should be of technocrats....just like usa...they have qualified professionals for every department...

Justice Iqbal Sb has done the nation a tremendous good by declaring this. This should now be "got" implemented as this Govt will not do so on its own since it is a govt which encourages cheating & corruption.
