Law and order: 124 profiteers, encroachers held in Peshawar
A team led by ADC Sohail Aziz raided markets in Hashtnagri and arrested 13 profiteers
PESHAWAR:
At least 124 profiteers and encroachers who failed to implement the official price list were arrested by various teams of the district administration during a raid in Peshawar on Friday.
According to the handout issued by Deputy Commissioner’s office, various markets were raided by additional assistant commissioners. At least 124 offenders who were overcharging customers were taken into custody.
The document stated ADC Abdul Nabi and Shah Zaib raided Lahore Adda and arrested 16 people for encroaching on the service road. A team led by ADC Sohail Aziz raided markets in Hashtnagri and arrested 13 profiteers.
Similarly, ADC Mir Khwas Khan Wazir along with his team visited Banamarhi Bazaar and arrested nine profiteers.
At least 16 profiteers were arrested in Gulbahar during a raid led by ADC Mehmood Ahmad Khan while 30 offenders were arrested on Charsadda Road.
