During his visit to Karachi, the federal minister met the SHC chief justice as well as renowned philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and the family of slain qawwali maestro Amjad Sabri. Sources told The Express Tribune that Dar conveyed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s concern over the kidnapping incident to the judge and assured him of all-out efforts to rescue his son.

Dar said the government was doing everything to safely recover Barrister Ovais Ali Shah, who was kidnapped by masked gunmen outside a busy supermarket in Karachi’s high-security neighbourhood.

Dar later visited the residence of Amjad Sabri and offered condolences to the bereaved family. He was accompanied by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad and PML-N Senator Nihal Hashmi. He assured the family that every possible step was being taken to bring the killers to the book.
