Girl among five killed on road

At least five persons including a three-year-old girl were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Islamabad on Thursday.
The three-year-old girl was killed by a speeding bus within the Murree police limits.
Rescue-1122 shifted the body to tehsil headquarters hospital where she was identified as Nigah Fatima daughter of Saqib Shah, a labourer.
According to the police, Fatima was going to a nearby market with her father at Tareet when a Daewoo bus, en route to Lahore from Murree, hit her. The girl was tossed in the air before falling on the road and died on the spot.
“Nigah was heading towards the bazaar with her father when a speeding bus coming from Murree hit her,” a police official said adding that she died on the spot.
The bus driver, identified as Mansoor Elahi, was taken into police custody. Meanwhile, three labourers were killed after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding dumper truck on GT Road. The victims were identified as Abdul Basit, 28, Naveed, 30, and Muhammad Irfan, 32. They hailed from Multan, Lahore and Sheikhupura respectively, and worked at a factory.
In a separate incident, a dumper truck (LWO-9355) hit a carry van (B-7417) near G-11 traffic signal, which resulted in the death of Muhammad Ali, 16, while Muhammad Idrees and Muhammad Junaid suffered injuries. The victims hailed from Haripur.
