Only those with contacts and influence have obtained these privileges through nepotism

BANNU: A protest was held outside University of Science and Technology (UST) Bannu on Thursday over its alleged involvement in discriminatory practices and nepotism.

The demonstration was organised by Bannu University Teaching Staff Association (BUTSA). They blocked the administration block at the main campus and locked several university offices.

Speaking at the protest, representatives of BUTA said the university administration was involved in cases of nepotism and discriminatory policies.

They said a written agreement was signed last year by the university administration to hold a selection board meeting. However, this plan never materialised.

According to the representatives, funds under Prime Minister's Fee Reimbursement Scheme and the laptop scheme were not handed over to deserving students. On the contrary, only those with contacts and influence have obtained these privileges through nepotism.
