Friends of Animals: CDA forms group to ensure animal care
The group members will frequently visit the zoo and make surprise checks
ISLAMABAD:
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has formed a group to ensure proper care of animals housed at Marghazar Zoo, said a press release.
The “Friends of Animals” group will be led by CDA Member Environment Sanaullah Aman, while senior officers of the environment wing and representatives of various non-governmental organisations and civil society will be its members.
The group was formed during a meeting chaired by Aman on Wednesday. It was decided during the meeting that the group would work for upkeep of animals at the zoo and to ensure implementation of standard operating procedures, especially for the lone elephant and lions.
The group members will frequently visit the zoo and make surprise checks to ensure provision of proper facilities to the animals.
