Trigger: Constable kills man attempting robbery

The spokesperson said one of the robbers had died but two of his accomplices had managed to flee

FAISALABAD:
A robbery suspect was killed in an ‘encounter’ with a police constable on Tuesday night. The constable said two of the alleged robber’s accomplices had fled. A police spokesperson said Constable Muhammad Ejaz was on his way home in Chak 58-JB, Mullan Pura, after performing duty at the Chakera police post.

The spokesperson said that Ejaz was stopped by three ‘robber’ near Chak 57-JB. They tried to take away the constable’s money and valuables but Ejaz pulled out a pistol and shot at the robbers. The spokesperson said one of the robbers had died but two of his accomplices had managed to flee.


The man who died was identified as Waris, a resident of Chak 238-JB, Bhowana. The spokesperson said that they had formed a team to look for his accomplices.
