West Indies won the 2016 World T20 by beating England in the final by four wickets and according to CAB joint secretary Avishek Dalmiya more than half of the profits they earned from the event were from ticket sales.

"We have had an income of INR85 million if which INR 50 million was earned from ticket sales the during World T20," revealed Dalmiya after the association's working committee meeting on Tuesday. Last year, at the same time, CAB publicised a deficit of INR37 million.
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, who is also the president of the association, said the money will be used to develop infrastructure.

"We have made huge profits. We will revamp the infrastructure and will try and develop indoor facilities in districts," said Ganguly.
While commenting on the tour of New Zealand in October Dalmiya put forth a few other plans for stadiums as well.
"We want to invite some of the former players from both the countries. We also have lots of plans which include a kids arena,” he said.
On the proposal of erecting a statue of late BCCI and CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya, Avishek said: "A committee will be constituted to have a look into this.”
