For the record: Boman never backed out of Pakistani film
Actor rejects reports he turned down offer over Kabir Khan heckling incident
Bollywood actor Boman Irani rubbished reports that suggested he backed out of a Pakistani film, out of support for Bajrangi Bhaijaan director Kabir Khan who was heckled at the Karachi airport recently.
The 3 Idiots actor opened up on the issue at an event recently, reported IANS. “It is absolutely false. You all came up with this story that I backed out. I never backed out. I didn’t have the time at that time, and I just didn’t do the film,” he told journalists.
On a visit to Pakistan, Kabir was reportedly heckled in Karachi over his recent anti-Pakistan film Phantom. “To media on both sides: 12 screaming lunatics with a mobile phone camera is not news. Please don’t give them the attention they want. Ignore,” the director had tweeted about the incident.

A month later, there were reports that Boman backed out of a Pakistani film, as a show of solidarity and support for Kabir.
When asked about the incident involving the film-maker, Boman expressed surprise and said: “I came to know about it later on.”
The Pakistani film turned down by Boman was to be directed by Azaan Sami Khan, who was co-producing the project with his mother, former actor Zeba Bakhtiar. Even Azaan was quoted as saying that Boman couldn’t do the film due to date issues. Boman was recently seen in the comedy Housefull 3.
