‘Star Trek’ actor Anton Yelchin dies in car accident

The actor appeared in the rebooted Star Trek series

Anton Yelchin, an actor famous for appearing in the rebooted Star Trek series, died in a car accident on Sunday, according to his publicist. He was 27.

“Yelchin was killed in a fatal traffic collision early this morning,” Jennifer Allen told BuzzFeed. “His family requests you respect their privacy at this time.”

'Star Trek 4' may already be in the works

According to the CNN, the actor died outside his home in Los Angeles, California.

Yelchin played the role of Chekov in Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and Star Trek Beyond, which is set for release later this year.
