South African batsman reaches 23 ODI hundreds in just 132 innings

South African batsman Hashim Amla broke Virat Kohli’s record on Wednesday as he became the fastest player to reach 23 ODI hundreds.

The 33-year-old batsman, who scored 110 off 99 deliveries against West Indies in the Tri-Nation One-Day International series match at Warner Park, guided his team to an astounding total of 343 runs in the first innings.

In response, West Indies were all out for 204 in 38 overs, courtesy Imran Tahir’s seven for 45, as he trapped the hosts in his spin-web.

Amla took only 132 innings to score his 23 ODI hundreds, while Kohli reached there in his 157th innings.
