Panama leaks inquiry: Imran fears his own accountability, says Rashid
Accuses PTI chief of creating hurdles in way of consensus on ToRs
LONDON:
Calling Imran Khan the ‘master of making U-turns’, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief was creating hurdles in the way of consensus on terms of reference (ToRs) for Panama leaks inquiry out of fear of his own accountability.
Talking to media persons soon after his arrival at the Heathrow Airport, he said the majority of offshore companies were owned by PTI people.
“Imran Khan had fears that investigation into offshore companies will result in him being held accountable for his own wrongdoings,” he said.
Rashid dismissed any apprehension with regard to ‘dharna politics’ and said the political system in Pakistan had been strengthened.
Replying to a question, he said he will consult Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over matters related to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
