ISLAMABAD: A judicial magistrate on Saturday sent eight seven suspected human traffickers to jail on 13-day judicial remand. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s anti-human trafficking cell had arrested the suspects, identified as Muhammad Abrar Muneer, Abdul Manan, Ammar Tabassum, Tahir Hameed, Khaqan Butt, Shoaib Alam, Kamran Zaman and Muhammad Zubair.

The FIA produced the suspects before Senior Civil Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar and requested for 14-day physical remand of the suspects to arrest more suspects. The judge, however, observed that arrest of other accused and recovery of instruments of forgery was not a cogent reason for giving the physical remand and sent the suspects on judicial remand.

The court has directed the FIA investigation officer to produce the suspects before the court on July 1 and also submit a report at the next hearing.
