Man, son killed in Karachi as brawl erupts over water supply
Three others were injured in domestic squabble in Nazimabad

A middle-aged man and his son lost their lives while three others were injured in a clash in Nazimabad No 2 on Saturday.
According to witnesses and family members, the incident took place as a domestic row broke out due to a dispute over water.
During the clash, five men were injured and immediately taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where two of them succumbed to their injuries. One of the injured persons is said to be in a critical condition and doctors are trying to save his life.

The deceased were later identified as 55-year-old Abdullah and his son, 25, while the injured were identified as Khateeb Gul and his two young sons, Saeedullah and Asif. “They (Abdullah and Khateeb Gul) are brothers but for the last few years, they were living separately due to familial and property disputes,” said Raheel Sheikh, a resident of the area.
According to residents, Abdullah had bought a land near Khateeb’s house a couple of months ago and was busy in the construction of his new house. “Khateeb was running a small water hydrant in a house,” said Muhammad Sohail, a resident. “The clash occurred when Abdullah took a water connection without the permission of his brother.” Following this, the sons of Khateeb engaged in a clash with Abdullah and his son and, after an exchange of fire, both of them started firing at each other. Resultantly, Abdullah and his son were killed and Khateeb and his sons were wounded.
Following the incident, police reached the site and inquired about the incident. “Water connection became the reason of the clash,” said Nazimabad SHO Mazhar Iqbal.
‘KWSB not responsible’
According to the deputy managing director of technical services, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), the tragic deaths in Nazimabad have nothing to do with the board.
