Grand gathering: Moulana Tariq Jamil delivers sermon at Bahria Town mosque
Offers prayers for the country; puts emphasis on unity among Muslims
LAHORE:
Pakistan’s renowned religious scholar Moulana Tariq Jamil delivered sermon to more than one hundred thousand people before he led the Friday prayers at Pakistan’s biggest and the world’s seventh largest mosques built by Bahria Town in Lahore.
Moulana Tariq Jamil also offered special prayers for the country and the ummah and exhorted people to follow the example of Bahria Town founder Malik Riaz in serving the community. The scholar put emphasis on unity among Muslims and on seeking forgiveness for our sins.
He also called upon people to seek guidance form the life of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and the incident of Karbala, adding that a new and modern Pakistan could only emerge by taking lessons from these chapters of Islamic history.
Bahria Town had made special prayers and security arrangements as thousands of people from all walks of life, including women, thronged to the grand mosque to listen to the famous scholar.
The Bahria Town’s Grand Jama Masjid has a capacity to accommodate around 70 thousand worshippers. Its beautiful architecture is a specimen of Pakistani and Islamic architecture.
The mosque was inaugurated at Eidul Azha in 2014. Many famous personalities of the Muslim world, including the chief clerics of Masjid-e-Haram, Masjid-e-Nabwi and Masjid-e-Aqsa have led prayers at the mosque.
