Traders’ Strike: Protests against security forces ends

Security forces forcefully closed down Khwazakhela Baazar after the protest

Traders in Khwazakhela ended their strike after successful talks among local elders, the traders’ federation and army officials. The shutter-down strike, called by Khawaza Khela Trade Federation president, was against security forces who thrashed protesters. The demonstrations were being held against prolonged power outages in Titbat area of Khawaza Khela tehsil. Security forces forcefully closed down Khwazakhela Baazar after the protest and arrested some shopkeepers. The strike ended on Friday after successful talks were held between local elders and army officials. Earlier, the traders association’s president and other union leaders called the business community to the market to observe a shutter-down strike against security forces for assaulting the people.
