Marwat also said both, the detained child abductors, were Afghan nationals and demanded a ransom of Rs20 million from the parents.

“Swat police arrested the criminals after tracing their calls made to the parents to get the money in exchange for their child,” the DPO said, adding Ayan Ali was with his family and the detained kidnappers were under police interrogation so that other members of the group could also be nabbed.

Ayan’s father Adalat Khan was also present on the occasion. He thanked Swat police for successfully rescuing his child.

“I am extremely happy over the safe recovery of my son and I appreciate the affective role of Swat police,” said the relieved father.
