Bahria Town, Saudi group in $300m deal
Collaboration agreement signed to 'revolutionise healthcare in Pakistan'
Bahria Town Karachi and the Bait Al Batterjee (BAB) Medical Company have signed a $300 million collaboration agreement to “revolutionise healthcare in Pakistan,” a press release issued by the company on Thursday said.
BAB is the founder of the Saudi German Hospitals. Under the collaboration agreement, the parties will work together to sign binding definitive agreements at the earliest, which will cover BAB building new state of the art hospitals in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. Arrangements will be sought with the Middle East Healthcare Company, a subsidiary of BAB, to operate the hospitals under the Saudi German Hospitals brand, the press release said.
BAB will also take over already established Bahria Town hospitals in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad under the agreement, the press release added.
BAB President Sobhi Batterjee and Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz signed the collaboration agreement setting the framework for negotiations on the definitive agreements.
Speaking on the occasion, Riaz said “Bahria Town’s vision and promise for its nation includes high quality healthcare services and amenities.”
