PESHAWAR:
PHC restrained police on Thursday from arresting Shamim Akhtar Kiyani, who claimed to be the wife of deceased senator Azam Khan Hoti. The bench also ordered her to appear before the court on the next hearing.

The division bench, headed by PHC Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, was hearing an application filed by Kiyani through her counsel Mian Mohibullah Kakakhel.

Kakakhel told the bench an FIR was registered against his client, but she managed to get interim bail. However, the PHC issued non-bailable arrest warrants for her a few days ago.

He said Kiyani did not upload objectionable material related to the deceased senator’s wife, Humaira.

However, the chief justice enquired how the bench could dismiss the warrant.

Finally, the bench directed the petitioner to remove objectionable material and restrained the police from arresting her.
