Development funds: Verdict reserved on MPA’s plea
The counsel said the government was supporting its preferred MPAs and had deprived the petitioner of funds

A Lahore High Court bench on Thursday reserved judgement on a petition moved by a Provincial Assembly member questioning discrimination in disbursement of development funds among parliamentarians. Advocate Sheraz Zaka concluded his arguments on behalf of the petitioner, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Shunila Ruth. The lawyer said development funds had been provided to every MPA from the ruling party but lawmakers from the opposition were not given any funds for development schemes in their constituencies. The counsel said the government was supporting its preferred MPAs and had deprived the petitioner of funds.
