Seven die in Sahiwal bus, truck collision

Bus was overloaded; being driven at fast speed, witnesses say

LAHORE: At least seven people died and 35 others got injured as a passenger bus collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction near Sahiwal on Wednesday.

The bus was enroute Lahore from Sukkur, and the bus driver is also among the dead.



Witnesses said the bus was overloaded, and being driven at a very fast speed.

Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where condition of at least seven of the injured was said to be critical.

In May, at least 13 people were killed while 10 others sustained injuries in a road accident when a passenger bus collided with a truck on Khushab road near Nasirabad, Jhang.
