ECP adjourns case of PM’s son-in-law

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has adjourned hearing of a petition against Captain (Retd) Muhammad Safdar till July 28.
PTI had filed a petition alleging that son in law of the prime minister had not disclosed assets his wife possessed in foreign countries.
Moreover, election authorities on Wednesday once again postponed elections on reserved seats and administration of oath of local government representatives in Sindh for an indefinite period.
Rendered dysfunctional after retirement of all its four members, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended all important activities related to elections till its vacant slots are filled.
ECP has also suspended its schedule for bye-elections in some constituencies of K-P and Sindh.
After recent changes in article 218 through 22nd Amendment in the constitution, all decisions related to elections now rest with ECP, comprising chief election commissioner and four members. CEC can only take decisions on administrative matters.
