ISLAMABAD:
Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has decided to launch a motivational campaign for bringing maximum number of people into the education net and set a target to increase its annual student enrollment to 1.4 million.

The AIOU Vice-Chancellor, Dr Shahid Siddiqui, has directed the director admissions and regional directors to come up with at least 10 per cent increase in admissions starting from August 1.

He also directed them to launch a well-organised comprehensive motivational campaign at the regional level to bring maximum number of people into the education net.

The students will be given extra support and their financial, technical and human-resource requirements will be met, he said.

The admissions department should adopt a proactive approach to provide best possible services to the students in terms of admissions and timely mailing of books, Siddiqui added.

Director admissions, while presenting admissions report for Spring Semester 2016, said that admissions department had completed the process of admissions within the set timeframe.

He said particulars of students had been uploaded on the university website.

Objection letters have been sent through registered post to applicants and information has also been placed on website, the director admissions said.

Those students who could not find information in admission confirmation or objectionable forms are advised to download duplicate admission form from the university’s website, he said.

Similarly, continuing students have been advised to download admission form and attach photo copy of the paid fee challan with the duplicate form, the director added.

Last date for submission of duplicate form is June 20.
