ISLAMABAD: Police booked on Tuesday JUI-F Senator Hafiz Hamdullah for threatening and trying to assault rights activist Marvi Sirmed in a TV talk show on June 10.

Hamdullah, Marvi Sirmed as well as Barrister Masroor and PTI’s Fayyazul Hassan Chohan were guests on a TV show to discuss recent honour killing incidents when the incident took place.

On Tuesday, police booked the senator under sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Inspector Iftikhar Chattha, investigation officer in the case, said the FIR had been lodged. Asked whether police would arrest the senator, Chattha said police could book a lawmaker, but needed permission of the National Assembly speaker or the Senate chairman, as the case maybe, to arrest one.

Barry Richard | 8 years ago | Reply This animal who has been made Senator by Mulana Diesal should be booked and arrested for his abusive foul language against a woman.I dont know how he can be made a senator when he has no manner to sit in a meeting or talk.He should be de seated from Senate and black listed for any government post or work..
