PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court attached salaries of Khyber Medical College selection committee chairperson and registrar for failing to comply with court orders.

Both officials were issued notices to file replies by the next hearing. The division bench of justices Nisar Hussain and Daud Khan was hearing a petition filed by dental technologist Murad Ali on Tuesday.

Petitioner’s counsel Aminur Rahman told the court his client applied for the post of dental technology lecturer and stood second on the merit list. Aminur Rahman claimed he had more experience, but the selection committee ignored him and appointed two people from Multan. They were Naveed Akhtar and Asma Altaf.

The counsel stated they did not belong to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and that is the reason his client challenged the appointment.

The court consequently sought comments from the respondents. He said the comments were never filed despite clear court orders.

The counsel alleged the respondents were using delaying tactics.

The bench, after hearing the arguments, ordered attaching the salaries of the respondents to filing
the reply.
