Protecting wildlife: All steps to eliminate illegal hunting, says DG
He said Rs66.78 million had been recovered from across the province as fines in wildlife violation cases

Punjab Wildlife and Parks Director General Khalid Ayaz Khan said on Sunday that Rs66.78 million had been recovered from across the province as fines in wildlife violation cases. He was talking to media during a visit to the Lahore Zoo.
“The fines were recovered in 22,994 cases registered during last seven years against people involved in illegal hunting and other offences related to wildlife laws. All wildlife regional deputy directors have been directed to pursue cases pending hearing in courts on a priority basis,” he said.
Khan said that all steps were being taken to eliminate illegal wildlife hunting in the province.
He directed the Lahore Zoo director and Lahore Safari Zoo Park deputy director to furnish a report on installation of security cameras. He also visited the monitoring room for security cameras and ordered that the number of cameras installed at the premises be increased.
