ISLAMABAD:
The day of mourning was observed across the country on Sunday by Tehreek Nifaz-e-Fiqh Jafariya (TNFJ) against the terrorist attack on the shrine of Hazrat Zainab bint Ali (RA) in Damascus, Syria.
Peaceful protest rallies were organised and condolence gatherings were held in a number of cities and towns in which people from all walks of life participated.
The attack on the shrine was strongly condemned in these rallies and meetings and the desecration of Islami Sha’air were declared an open challenge for the Muslim Ummah.
A condolence meeting in this connection was also held at the party headquarters, which was addressed by the chief Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi.
Moosavi said that the inhuman activity (attack on shrine) had caused heart-felt grief to every follower of the prophet. He added that it was unfortunate that Muslim rulers were silent on those terrorist acts. Moosavi stressed that terrorism was an open war with Islam.
The TNFJ chief advised Muslim rulers to look beyond their personal interests and devised a joint line of action against terrorism.
“Islam preaches respect and protection of the minorities’ places of worship so they cannot even think of trampling the holy places and places of worship belonging to Muslims,” he said.
