Separate raids: Four murder suspects arrested

The policeman told The Express Tribune the suspect allegedly opened fire at a local trader

SHANGLA/CHARSSADDA: Police arrested four suspected murderers in Shangla and Charsadda on Sunday. Investigation SP Zain Jadoon said those arrested in Shangla included Zahir Khan, Shahbaz Khan and Nosherwan. “They were involved in the killing and kidnapping of various businessmen in the city,” the SP told the media. In Charsadda, a police official said a man named Israr was arrested. The policeman told The Express Tribune the suspect allegedly opened fire at a local trader, Qasim, during over dispute on Sunday. The two had some business related differences. Qasim was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injures. Meanwhile, Israr was arrested within an hour of the incident from his house. Police have also confiscated weapons and arms from all of these suspects. Meanwhile, traders and businessmen threatened to protest against the increased number of extortion cases and targeted killings in Charsadda. This was stated by the traders’ association on Sunday.
