Five people, including an official of Frontier Corps, were killed in different districts of the province on Friday night and Saturday.

Officials dead

The FC official was killed in Charsadda on Friday night.  According to the police, unidentified persons reportedly opened fire on the FC official, Ahmed Ali Shah, when he was on his way home near Sardaryab.

Police and locals reached the site to take Shah for treatment, but he succumbed to injuries. Subsequently, a search operation was conducted in the nearby areas to find the culprit. However, the case was registered.

In another instance in Charsadda, a police official, Imranullah, died in a road accident on Nowshera Road.

Besides, locals found a body in the fields near Ghani Khan’s house in Charsadda. Police identified the deceased as 20-year-old Shahab Yousaf.

A case was registered and investigation was commenced.

Killing and suicide


Moreover, in the district courts of DI Khan, a person named Asif was shot dead by his opponent on Saturday. A police official at Cantt police station DI Khan confirmed the incident.

The deceased, 24, went to run an errand on Kacheri Road after appearing before the sessions court, when three persons on a motorbike opened fire at him. He died on the sport while the culprits managed to escape.

Soon after the incident, Cantt SHO, along with police personnel, reached the site and shifted the body to District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital DI Khan for postmortem.

“Two years back, Asif’s brother Akram was shot dead and negotiation was underway with the rival group,” a police official told the media. “But before a compromise could be reached the rival group shot Asif.”

Meanwhile in Lar village of DI Khan, a shopkeeper committed suicide by consuming poison on Saturday. Khadim Hussain consumed a medicine that is used to killed rats. He committed suicide over family issues.

In Swabi, unidentified gunmen killed a property dealer, Muhammad Zahid, in Menni area of the district.

According to Zahid’s wife, her husband’s body was dumped in the bus stand near her village. Police registered the case and started investigation.
