LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Friday sought comments from the Misri Shah SHO on a petition filed by a man seeking registration of a case against some journalists, including the chief editor of an Urdu newspaper, for publishing a false news that the petitioner’s son had died. Waris Ali submitted that they had published a report claiming that his son, Yasir, had died in a road accident. “They wanted to kill my son. They published the news so that they could later claim that they had not killed Yasir.” He requested the court to order the SHO to register an FIR against them.
