Ramazan traditions: Fitrana amount fixed at Rs100 per head 

The chairman said that Islam obligates its followers to pay the required amount before offering the Eid prayers

ISLAMABAD:
The minimum amount for Sadqa-e-Fitr or Fitrana has been set at Rs100 per head by the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman. According to the chairman the breadwinner of a family is needed to pay at least Rs100, on behalf of each of his dependents, according to the wheat price. He said the minimum amount that should be given in charity is Rs100 with respect to wheat, in accordance with barley it is Rs320, with respect to price of dates and raisins it is Rs1600. However, the Fidya amount needed to be paid for the 30 days with respect to wheat price is Rs3000; with respect to barley Rs9600; with respect to dates, Rs48,000; and with respect to raisins, Rs48,000 should be paid for 30 days. The chairman said that Islam obligates its followers to pay the required amount before offering the Eid prayers, so that the needy people could make timely use of that money.
