Archaeological heritage: Preservation of sites ensured

Ministry of Kashmir Affairs has ensured preservation of six archaeological sites in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) to promote tourism and cultural activities. The archeological sites include Manthal Rock Art Skardu, Karga Buddha Site Gilgit, Lamsa Buddha Site Shighar Skardu, Fugush Monastry District Diamer, Hanzal Stupa Gilgit, Rock carvings and inscriptions Ganish Hunza. Moreover, sources said the authorities had developed tourism information centres in districts Skardu, Ghizer, Ghanche and Astore.
