Restructuring: Education sector needs overhaul

According to a handout, the governor said engineers play a vital role in the world today

SWABI: The education sector needs to be restructured to create opportunities for future generations and ensure students stay abreast of advancements in the developed world. Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra shared these views at the 20th convocation of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) in Topi, Swabi on Thursday. According to a handout, the governor said engineers play a vital role in the world today. “Pakistan needs such professionals who have the ability to accept emerging challenges,” the handout quoted Jhagra as saying. “Pakistan has immense resources. A committed and adequately trained workforce can work towards national reconstruction. According to the handout, 338 students graduated from GIKI. Of them, seven were awarded gold medals.
