HYDERABAD:
The influential Makhdooms of Hala, who are among the founding members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), have reportedly worked out their differences with the party leadership.

Provincial minister Makhdoom Jameeluz Zaman, the spiritual leader of the Sarwari Jamaat, claimed this at a press conference at Hyderabad Press Club on Wednesday.

Makhdooms of Hala warn of parting ways

“The party [PPP] leadership has addressed the complaints and apprehensions of the Makhdoom family,” said MPA Makhdoom Rafiquz Zaman, also of the same family. He went on to assert that his family will continue to enjoy the position in the PPP which they had under the leadership of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

Three months ago, Jameeluz Zaman warned of parting ways with the PPP after around five decades of political association. Rafiquz Zaman also acknowledged Jameeluz Zaman’s grievances and complaints to the party leadership. “But [Asif Zardari’s sister] Faryal Talpur has removed our concerns,” he said.
