Trailblazing: Police initiatives to be replicated

Two new police training schools on the cards

Police has forwarded summaries regarding the replication of Lahore’s conspicuous Dolphin Force across five other Punjab cities, IGP Mushtaq Sukhera revealed on Tuesday.


The IGP said summaries had also been moved with regard to the establishment of two new police training institutes. The five metropolitan areas where plans are afoot to constitute the force are Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and Bahawalpur. The proposed training institutes will be established in Bahawalpur and Lahore’s Township area.  Separately, DIG Sultan Khwaja of Sindh Police called on the IGP at the latter’s office. Sukhera said the Sindh government had sought assistance to replicate the  Human Resource Management System, Record Management System and 8787 service introduced in the Punjab.  The IGP pledged to provide maximum assistance to Sindh Police on the occasion.  Thanking the IGP, DIG Khwaja said Sindh Police would replicate the IT initiatives taken by Punjab Police. He said the force was extremely impressed with the success of the information technology initiatives introduced by the Punjab Police.
