QUETTA:
A police sub inspector was gunned down on Wednesday, in Quetta's area of Sabzal Road.

According to police officials, the sub inspector identified as Mukhtihar Mulgani was on his way to work when unidentified armed men on a motorcycle opened fire at him.

Two policemen killed in Quetta blast

Mulgani was shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for immediate treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

“The victim was shot in his head, resulting in his death,” hospital sources said.


Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri condemned the incident and urged security authorities to take action against those involved int he killing. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

Last month, a bomb blast near the Balochistan University campus in Quetta left two traffic police officers dead.

Eight more people, including three security personnel, were also injured when the time bomb weighing around two kilos went off near the traffic police check post on Sariab Road, according to the Bomb Disposal Squad.

The powerful blast destroyed four motorcycles and an auto rickshaw while smashing the windowpanes of nearby buildings.
