Welfare: 39 women get dowry support

BAHALWALPUR: As many as 39 women were handed cheques on Monday for Rs15,000 each by the Zonal Dowry Committee.

MNA Begum Parveen Masood Bhatti chaired a meeting in this regard at the office of Auqaf Department.

Bhatti said the government was committed to the welfare of the poor. She said those wanting to receive the dowry funds might submit applications with the Auqaf Department. She said the committee distributed the funds transparently.

The MNA said the provincial government had established vocational training institutes across the province to provide free-of-charge training in various skills. Students at these institutions were also offered scholarships, she said.
