Concerned: Tribal elders postponed sit-in due to PM’s surgery

The residents of Miranshah, North Waziristan Agency have postponed their sit-in in Islamabad that was scheduled to take place on Monday, due to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s open-heart surgery.
The elders of Miranshah Bazaar area were to hold a peaceful sit-in in reference to the inadequate compensation given to them by the government for rehabilitation.
They claim that in June 2014, around thousands of people, including men and women, walked 65 kilometres, from North Waziristan to Bannu and other areas. They said it took them three days. Around 1,600 houses were evacuated — all of which contained belongings of the evicted — and destroyed in the operation against militants,
They had announced to hold a sit-in against the government for not providing adequate compensation for the reconstruction of their damaged houses.
