Unannounced Load-Shedding: WAPDA urged to release schedule

Residents of Bannu have urged Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) to release a schedule for power outages in the district. The demand was put forward during a protest held in Bannu on Saturday. On the occasion, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leader Maulana Islam Hussaini said efforts should be made to curb unannounced load-shedding in the district during Ramazan. Similarly, Qaumi Watan Party councillor Siyan Durrani said locals were facing 20 hours of load-shedding. “Businesses have been adversely affected,” he said. “Many businessmen have been compelled to migrate to Peshawar in search of better prospects,” Earlier, Peshawar Electric Supply Company Chief Executive Officer Anwarul Haq Yousufzai announced load-shedding will not be carried out in areas where revenue touches 70%.
