Triple murder case: Former SHO remanded into police custody
The judge sent him into police custody on one-week physical remand
KARACHI:
An anti-terrorism courts administrative judge remanded on Thursday a police officer into police custody after he was nominated as a facilitator in the triple murder case of gangster Arshad Pappu and his associates.
Former SHO Chand Khan Niazi was produced before the judge by Kalakot police on the expiry of his 90-day preventive detention in Rangers custody. Niazi, who is one of the proclaimed offenders in the triple murder case, was arrested in February in a ‘targeted’ raid conducted by the paramilitary force.
He was subsequently detained for questioning over allegations of his ties with gangster Uzair Baloch and others. The judge sent him into police custody on one-week physical remand and sought a progress report at the next hearing of the case.
