Strict action: Four cops arrested for taking bribes 

The SSP said the police recovered the money extorted by these policemen from passengers

HYDERABAD: Taking bribes from buses carrying devotees to Sehwan where the annual urs celebrations of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar are starting has landed four policemen in trouble.

After enraged passengers blocked Indus Highway in protest in Khudabad, Dadu, late Tuesday night, Dadu SSP Munir Shaikh was prompted into action.

He suspended and put behind bars assistant sub-inspector Abdul Majeed Panhwar and constables Zulfiqar Panhwar, Badaruddin Samo and Bashir Jatoi. They were also nominated in an FIR lodged on the state's complaint under Section 161 of Pakistan Penal Code. Khudabad police station SHO Abdul Rasheed Bhatti was also removed.

Talking to the local media, the SSP said the police recovered the money extorted by these policemen from passengers. He warned others to cease this practice, warning of similar action.
