Apple is working on a serious face lift of the MacBook Pro line for later this year, according to a research note from reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo’s report suggests the MacBook Pro updates will come to both the 13-inch and 15-inch models sometime during the fourth quarter of this year.

The laptops are set to come with a thinner and lighter design enabled by a new MacBook-esque keyboard and new metal injection molded hinges. The new MacBook Pros will also reportedly use Thunderbolt 3-enabled USB-C ports.

Additionally, the OLED display touch bar will replace the physical function keys along the top of the keyboard.

The laptops are also said to incorporate Apple's Touch ID fingerprint scanners. Kuo says they're the "most significant upgrade ever undertaken by Apple" and are planned for the last quarter of 2016, with a 13-inch regular MacBook also on the agenda.

Earlier it was reported that Apple is working on some automobile project. The tech giant also recently announced a $1 billion investment in Chinese ride hailing app Didi Chuxing, the bitter rival of US-based Uber.
