Steam Deck OLED refurbished stock returns as Valve faces ongoing shortages
Steam Deck OLED returns in refurbished stock with lower price amid ongoing supply shortages

Valve has made the Steam Deck OLED available again in limited quantities, though only through its certified refurbished programme following recent supply shortages.
The OLED version of the handheld gaming device had previously sold out in the United States, with Valve attributing the shortage to limited availability of memory and storage components. The company has now restocked the device, but only as refurbished units rather than new models.
At present, the 512GB OLED version is the only variant available, priced at $439 compared to the standard $549 for a new device.
According to Valve, refurbished units undergo testing to meet quality standards and may show only “minor cosmetic blemishes”. They also include a one-year warranty, a refurbished power supply, a carrying case and a quick start guide.
New versions of the Steam Deck OLED remain unavailable, and reports indicate that shortages have also affected other regions beyond the United States. Earlier availability of a 256GB LCD model was briefly noted, but it is no longer listed in stock.
Demand for the device has remained strong, with limited inventory being purchased quickly when it becomes available.
Valve is also preparing additional hardware releases, including new versions of the Steam Machine, Steam Frame and Steam Controller.
These products were initially expected in early 2026 but have since been delayed, with updated release timing yet to be confirmed.
