Red carpet round-up: BMA 2016 in the spotlight

KARACHI: The 24th Billboard Music Awards (BMA) wrapped up with some laudable performances from the bests of the music fraternity. Singers, actors and other Hollywood A-listers flocked to Las Vegas to celebrate music on Sunday. From Kesha’s breakthrough performance to Celine Dion’s emotional acceptance speech for her Billboard Icon Award, the night ended on a perfect note, giving us serious style inspiration and some standout red carpet looks. Here’s a look at the best three fashion moments from the event.

Priyanka Chopra



The Bajirao Mastani star has been making headlines for all the right reasons and every time the 33-year-old walks the red carpet, she turn heads. Chopra’s Atelier Versace cerulean blue backless gown brought back summer-cool in style. Her messy braided hair-do, Antonini diamond earrings and minimal make-up finished with pinkish-nude pout complemented her personality. In fact, the quirky black strap on the dress uplifted the starlet’s spontaneity. 



Jessica Alba



No one can ever go wrong with a LBD and when it’s given a trendy twist, it does catch attention. Jessica Alba’s Zuhair Murad lace dress paired with Stuart Weitzman thigh high boots made the perfect ensemble. Alba, who is often known for her subtle girl-next-door wardrobe choices, made a bold fashion statement with modern smokey eye make-up and a playful man bun, looking effortlessly urban-chic.

Kesha



Kesha’s appearance and tribute to Bob Dylan not only proved the singer has moved on from the Dr Luke controversy but also brought her back on our fashion radar. The pop star wore a Bespoke Gucci purple pant suit with golden embellishments, paired with a formal white tee and golden loafer heels. Her wavy blonde locks and the unusual black bow-tie made her look like the perfect mix of elegance and business.
